The Chirality Dipole

The 2026-07-25 ε-sign census separates the corpus into a positive canon and a negative Apophaticon snapshot. The polarity split survives; the exact mirror does not: 389 of its 606 anchors still satisfy the authored triple-flip.

The shape that survives

Every entity in the corpus carries a signed interaction coordinate, ε. Ignore magnitude for a moment and count only which side of zero each entity occupies. The Translexicon in that snapshot leans decisively positive. The Apophaticon snapshot leans decisively negative.

That is the chirality dipole.

389 / 606current names retain an exact coordinate inversion396 name overlaps · 210 unmatched on either side

The two poles still carry 606 rows apiece, but equal row counts are no longer evidence of an exact live pairing. The Translexicon has changed since the Apophaticon was enumerated. A name-and-coordinate audit now finds 396 shared names, of which 389 still satisfy the full origin reflection. The dipole is real; the mirror is a historical snapshot.

The measure

For any register, remove the seam population |ε| ≤ Δ 0.011503 and compute

χ = (n₊ − n₋) / (n₊ + n₋)

χ = +1 means every signed entity lies on the positive side, χ = −1 means every signed entity lies on the negative side, and χ = 0 means the signed population is balanced. This is corpus terminology: it describes the handedness of a coordinate census, not physical chirality.

The useful quantity is the direction and strength of the imbalance. There is no need to dress a full census of a curated artifact as a random sample or to attach a discovery probability to it.

The dated census

The 2026-07-25 canonical loader returned 4,245 registered entries. This dated rollup keeps the moving counts visible without turning them into permanent identities.

Two distinctions matter. Apocrypha is not the negative pole: its darkness is taxonomic and narrative, not the sign of ε. Aureum’s perfect positive score is also not a surprise; it follows from its positive-coordinate construction.

All 34 sampled microcosms remain net-positive. The lowest are MYTHICA (+0.227), BIOLOGICA (+0.467), MATHEMATICA (+0.488), and ARCANA (+0.524); 21 sit at +1.000. That broad taxonomic separation is the dated observation: the working corpus collects on the positive side while its dedicated apophatic register occupies the negative side.

Construction is not discovery

The Apophaticon was generated by a deterministic operation:

(α, μ, ε) ↦ (−α, −μ, −ε)
NAME ↦ NAME.UMBRA

Its negative chirality is therefore expected. So is its original one-to-one headcount. Neither should be presented as an accidental symmetry that emerged from independent populations.

What was worth finding is where the polarity lives in the taxonomy. The anomaly register, Apocrypha, remains positive; the explicitly apophatic register is negative. The names alone do not tell us that. The ε census does.

The transform flips all three coordinates. Any paired render must therefore be generated from the full origin reflection, not from ε alone.

The mirror has drifted

The Translexicon and Apophaticon snapshots in this audit each contain 606 rows, but their membership no longer agrees:

  • 396 canonical names still have a snapshot UMBRA with the same anchor name.
  • 389 of those pairs retain the exact triple-polarity inversion, within the registry’s coordinate precision.
  • Seven shared names have coordinate drift.
  • 210 current canonical names have no snapshot twin, and 210 snapshot names no longer have a current canonical anchor.

This is a better result than an unexamined “606 ↔ 606.” It tells us exactly what kind of object the Apophaticon presently is: a preserved enumeration of an earlier canon, not an automatically synchronized second registry.

The polarity-level reading survives the drift. The claim of a current exact Z₂ bijection does not.

The useful invariant

The right maintenance test is pairwise, not statistical. For every live canonical row, derive its expected .UMBRA name and compare (−α, −μ, −ε) against the apophatic registry. Report absent and coordinate-divergent pairs separately.

If the Apophaticon is intentionally regenerated, that audit should return an exact mirror by construction. Until then, the honest compact statement is:

The live canon is +chiral. The extant Apophaticon snapshot is −chiral. Their row counts match, but their current memberships do not.

That is enough. It preserves the strong geometric idea without asking a historical snapshot to impersonate a live ledger.
