Onomasticon

The 1⊗0 Onomasticon

Sacred constants: F ⊙ φ η Δ

The prose companion to the coordinate tablet. Where the Translexicon records where a named entity sits, the Onomasticon records what that entity is in its own field and why it belongs to its Liber.

The Onomasticon answers the question the Translexicon deliberately leaves open. A coordinate row can tell the engine where to look, but it cannot tell a reader what superconductivity, prima materia, a Dirac sea, or a named constant means. This companion supplies that native meaning.

Each entry begins in its own discipline. Physics is described as physics, chemistry as chemistry, mathematics as mathematics, mythology as mythology. Only then does the entry name the corpus relation. The order keeps the lens from replacing the subject.

Identity card for the viscosity tax, showing its name, exact derivation, role in the engine, and relation to the Ferrite constant.

A single Onomasticon-style resident in visual form: native definition and exact relation first, corpus role second.

Two books, two questions

The distinction is simple:

  • Translexicon: Where is the entity placed?
  • Onomasticon: What is the entity?

Keeping those answers apart is useful. Coordinates remain compact and machine-readable; definitions remain human-readable and can carry the nuance of their source fields. A change to one does not have to masquerade as a change to the other.

A taxonomy for wandering

The entries are gathered into Libri rather than flattened into one alphabetic wall. A Liber is a domain of conversation—constants and first principles, matter, living systems, alchemical operations, voids, language, vestiges. The partition gives a reader several ways into the corpus without ranking one field above another.

The Onomasticon is expansive because it is meant to be consulted, not read straight through. Its governing distinction is simple: it protects the meaning of a thing while the rest of ARMISTICE asks what happens at its seat.
